I think you are asking about how long have Homeo sapiens been around...it depends on what you consider human. Do you mean the oldest skull that resembles humans (like cron magnums) or do you mean the oldest remains that compleatly can be calssified as "human". There are humanoids too...

Provided you're not a Christian creationist nut, modern humans (Homo sapiens) are said to have existed in Africa arund 200,000 years ago. However, true humans (Homo sapiens sapiens) are much more modern, probably existing around 30,000 years ago.

The race has been around in its present form for a few million years. Cutting it closer involves making somewhat arbitrary judgments about which of our forebears were human enough to be called human.
