The Grand Canyon is a mile deep in places that's 5,280 feet and deeper in some places so let's round that up to 6,000 feet. Providence canyon is up to 150 feet deep and it took 150 years to make. That's about a foot per year.

Providence Canyon was formed out of soft soil, while the grand canyon was formed out of more solid rock, so no.
