Hi.The apple is mildly acidic. The acid causes an electron flow in the probes.

Take parts of several dead apples (the fruit),
sew them together,
stick electrodes into the stem,
raise it up into a lightning storm,
and watch the fireworks.

My IPOD has an internal battery that I cant see . . I don't know how it works. Must be magic ((sorry . . I had to say it))
