Yes, as long us you don't become so intangled to it to the extent of being so dependent.

Yes, unfortunately. The best those of us who are not rich can do is fight/vote to spread more money/freedom around. People don't like hearing that, but it's practical and true. Of course this all depends on your definition of freedom. There is a difference between freedom of thought and freedom of action. But even thought can be constrained by lack of freedom of action.

Money does not equal freedom in any society. No matter how much money we have, we are still not free if we allow people to control our wants and desires. It is up to each individual to allow themselves to be mentally free. Society chains us "need" and "want" things that we do not need because of peer pressure. Others influence us to buy things because it's the "right" thing to do. That's not freedom... really. To really be free, you should make your decisions free from what society tells you.... without money.
I guess we, as people, will only be free if each of us was in a separate location void of contact.

No you have personal liberty, civil rights, freedom of speech, choices in everything you do. Mental, emotional and spiritual freedom can be acquired without money as well. In material things, it just takes a little longer.

Having money sure feels a lot like freedom as compared to not having money and I have been in both situations.
I say that as long as you don't become a slave to the need for having a lot of money , yes it is freedom.

I think that in order to have freedom, you need power, and money can help you gain power, however it doesn't guarantee it. Having money does give the chance for more choices, and having choices could also be considered having more freedom.

Well it does not equal freedom if you are seeking it inordinately and must worry about ways by which to get it, satisfying customers demands, and with your agenda controlled by the wish to acquire more of it. Most people even find time by which to be free of obligations a bondage because they do not know what to do with themselves with a lot of leisure and how best to construct their lives without the shape that others demands on their time makes of them. If one could not make a living, have plenty of money, and can devote himself toward the contemplation of ideas then he would be truely free, or as free as one gets

Only the freedom to choose what one could not have without it. It certainly does not equal freedom of the mind to be rational or just.

Having money gets you "convenience" in life- little more. With large enough sums you can have people shop for you, cook for you, drive you around, fly you around, make arrangements of all kinds etc. The convenience to do what you want when you want. It can also reduce certain life stresses such as financial debt- although there are plenty of others stresses to take the place of that as many lottery winners will tell you.
None of this insures happiness as you say.

Money ties the owner down with responsability.
Freedom from poverty is availed while responsability to those without your freedoms is the balancing factor.
