try to be more original than using a pro players number
try sumthing like the year you were born (ex. 1991--->91)
or maybe u could have a number corresponding to where ur initials come in the alphabet (ex. AD would be 14 or maybe if ur first name comes later in the alphabet, u can just use the first letter in your name ex. S would be 19. or you could add your initials ex. SM would be 19+13=32

Chelios doesn't suck! Doug Wilson didn't suck! Not all number 24s have sucked, and in fact a lot of them are in the Hall of Fame. I say go with 24, and since you were born on the 24th it's not like you need another reason. If you do, though, there are PLENTY of great 24s past and present out there...as long as your jersey isn't blue and white no one will think you were honoring McCabe.

- Favourite Number.
- Last two digits of the year you were born
- say you were born in 1986, put 86.
- Number of the month you were born in (ex. January = 01 and December = 12)
- Favourite Hockey player's Number
There are many different numbers to choose with somthing to do with you.

Your Own, with a number significant to yourself no matter what professional team jersey you are wearing. Trades and $$$loyalty are all you find by players these days. It is also much cooler to be your decision maker.
I wear #11 because I grew up my first hockey experiences rooting for Gilbert Perrault. But my name is across every jersey I own.

Personally I think you should put #6 because some of the best defense man ever have had that number, including Wade Redden.

Go with 4.
Bobby Orr is enough reason to wear 4, but then there's Scotty Stevens and (he didn't play D... but...) Jean Béliveau.
That's not a bad number to go with.
