good question....they really crucified him back then....maybe if he were to run for president things would change...
but he is also more laid back and "likable" now...
also, the pendulum has shifted and more people are supporting the democrats....the media tends to go with whatever the public wants....they just want ratings...

Your memory is faulty. Al Gore was the favorite of the left wing liberal loonies in the main stream media. Most of the big media organizations did their own vote counts in Florida and could not come up with anything to help out Mr. Gore.
