I balance my checkbook on a regular basis, probably bi-weekly by computer. Then monthly against the bank statement, as soon as It comes.

If you don't check your statement online daily then it is better to balance it once you use it. It is good to check your statements for any fees or purchases that are not yours. Also if you stop receiving statements at all, check you bank immediately as this could be the work of identity theives. Have a great day and don't shop too much:)

A financial company assertion is rather for reconcilliation. What it skill is that what the financial company has paid out out of your account. Like, in case you had 4 financial company deposits and wrote 30 tests, your financial company assertion could practice 3 deposits and 28 tests in keeping with what day it comes out. once you're great busy, you are able to write all the tests and then subtract from the stability of the deposits on the top of each week, once you enable it go previous that, you rather play with hearth. Quicken elementary is a surprisingly reliable thank you to maintain song.

I balance my check book every two weeks when I get paid. I go online and print my statement for the previous two weeks. I have to keep current or I would never stay on top of things.

no, there doesn't seem to be a point in balancing the checkbook with most things done online, including banking. because most of the time you can download your balance from quicken and the like.

I never balance my checkbook. I don't want anything in writing that can serve as proof to my husband that I spend too much.

Yes! I highlight every item that has gone through in my check book and look for items I did not purchase!
Best way to protect yourself. I caught $800 being sent Western Union to England.

Yes, always. It is the easiest way to keep up with your finances and to avoid the hassle later. I suggest that you spend 10 minutes doing that rather than 1 hour fixing problems later.
