I am an American Patriot. That’s the truth, the unvanquished truth. Others may not realize it, but I truly am. “Prove it,” you might say, “did u help out at 9/11?” Well, no, a patriot doesn’t have to be somebody who did something to change the world or something like that, it doesn’t need to be a hard thing. What I do is very simple and very patriotic at the same time.
This is my intro so far, i still haven't thought of the rest

You are because someone told you that you are. If you don't know why, you need to look up the definition and then ask yourself, do you think you are? Why do you? I hope this helps.

Because of the lies your textbook has told you is my personal opinion, but I guess its mostly attributed to the fact you were born in America (I'm guessing) and were surrounded by a lot of propaganda surrounding this nation.
