Well Cats, The Boss was "made" to represent the common man back in the 80's, so I'd say Bruce. I like both their music equally.

Mellencamp definately represents the common man better..Listen to some of the songs on Scarecrow, and Uh-Huh.

My bf's totally favorite singer of all time is BRUCE. I like his songs but I like Mellencamp better, I just like his music better. They are both wealthy, but the one that represents the common man better in my opinion, just from his music, is Mellencamp.

I love Mellencamp...but after his crap he pulled with his ex-wife...I would have to say Springsteen.
