Hello. I am 17, and female, obviously, since this is a menstrual issue.
I have irregular periods.
However, they are generally not -this- irregular. My last period started on the 13th of June, and ended on the 20th.
It is now October 12th.
I am a virgin, and a lesbian, at that. And unless something that I'm repressing happened, I haven't been raped.
What could be wrong?
Has this happened to anyone before, that is reading this?
What should I do in this situation?
Any information I can get is helpful, thanks.

"Your sexual orientation is nothing to do with this, nor is the fact that you aren't a victim of rape! Its simply mother nature messing with you ! However, are you on a strict diet? A severve exercise regime? Annorexic? etc etc? All could be factors."
I put my sexual orientation/the fact that I haven't been raped there to establish that, yes, I am definitely not pregnant.
Thanks for the advice- I'll ask my mother if I can see the gynecologist soon.
Not anorexic, no sudden changes in excersize/diet. I am stressed quite often, so that could be a factor.
Thanks for your answers.
I'll choose a BA when it slows down a little, and I hear everyone's opinions. Thanks again!

I feel for you this could be serious because your period cleans your insides. If its irregular then see a doctor right aways. I hear theres medication that will speed things up

I would suggest you go to a Dr and get checked out. It doesn't sound possible for you to be pregnant and it isn't ordinary to go that many months without a period. Are you under a super amount of stress or any major changes coming up? My period has been weird for months and it's b/c I'm super stressed. There are several conditions that could cause that, but I don't want to scare you, so it would be best to go to the Dr. Planned Parenthood is pretty cheap, about $50 for an exam vs $200 to visit the OB-GYN

I started menstruating when I was 11. I had irregular periods just like yours all the way through high school until I got on birth control when I turned 18 and it all evened out.
When I talked to my doctor about it, she just kept saying "it should even out, it should even out" because usually they do, but sometimes they don't. A lot of girls use birth control to regulate their periods. It can also help with acne, cramps, and other hormonal problems you face. Since you're a lesbian, obviously you don't need it for sex, but maybe you should talk to your doctor about the posibility for your own body's benefit.

First, you should definately see a gynocologist.. I dont think you have anything to really worry about. Alot of young women have irregular periods. but its better safe than sorry. Another thing, is maybe its time to think about birth control. I know you said your a lesbian, but they arent just for birth control anymore. Maybe your hormone levels are a little off, and these can help bring them back to where they should be. It will regulate your period and also has other benefits.
Good luck!

Anything can cause irregular periods. 1. You can rule out pregnancy. 2. You should get checked annually to make sure you are ok. 3. It could be a major issue so go to the doc. If nothing else, they can get you on birth control which will make your periods regular like clock work. Good luck girl, and take care of you!

Are you stressed? Have you lost weight, changed your diet or exercise routine? They can all delay a period.
Since it has been several months you should go to a doctor. Plus, if you have irregular periods the doctor could prescribe pills.

Have you lost a lot of weight recently or are you exercising a *lot*? That could make your period stop for a few months like that.
I know you said you aren't sexually active but it wouldn't hurt to get on birth control pills. They are supposed to even out your periods and are helpful in getting them back on track, even if you aren't sexually active.
Good luck! Hope this helped

Go to a doctor -- NOW.
There are lots of possible reasons for this. Women who are obese or who have eating disorders often have these kinds of problems. So do drug users. It can be caused by stress. It can also be caused by much more serious illnesses.
Why are you still reading this? Really! Stop now and call your doctor.
