The "high-graphics thing" you mentioned would cause the CPU to work harder, thus generating more heat. Laptops can overheat very quickly, so make sure that your laptop is not on a surface that will insulate heat. Also, check to make sure that your fan is blowing correctly, and is not clogged with dust.
Whenever possible, use Ctrl-Alt-Del to bring up the menu to shut down your computer. Powering it off in the way you've been doing it will damage both your laptop and your Vista installation. Even if that does not work, you can turn off your laptop by holding in the power button for 10 seconds. This is still not the best method, but it avoids any possible shorts that can happen when you yank out the battery.

Your computer don't have sufficient RAM memory or a short sufficient video card. it truly is a huge recreation and actually meant to be performed on a private computer. once you've a large number of alternative stuff on your computer, you gained't have sufficient memory or muscle (the processor speed) to play that recreation.

Vista is so screwed up right now you hear about something everyday..
I would try some basic maintenance on it. Disc cleanup, disc defragmenter.. clear up some room. It might be crashing because there isn't enough RAM available when the system goes to standby.

Vista is just crap. In Europe consumer groups are now pressing hardware vendors to explicitly ask consumers which OS they want preinstalled at the time of purchase and not only sell computers with Vista installed.
Interesting times are approaching fast for Microsoft.

That's why I stuck with XP.
Give me a two year old computer with 1 gb of ram and a 100 gig hard drive and XP Pro and I'm good to go.
