You probably just wanna ask so you made this up and you know its answer.

Anyway, thee ANSWER:

Meteorites that enter earths atmosphere are subjected to terminal velocities far more greater than what is required to escape earth. Scorching heat produced by air resistance burn up the whole outer parts to ashes and when it lands, its just a size of a TV or football!!

When things are created at random, it is much easier to create small things than large things. Therefore there will be more of them.

Furthermore, many of the meteoroids (that eventually become meteorites when they hit Earth's "windshield") are the result of breakdown of bigger objects (e.g., small asteroids crunching into each other, comets melting and letting embedded pebbles come loose). The normal tendency in such cases is for larger objects to become lots of smaller objects.

meteorites start off big and cold but the when they enter earths apnosphere the heat from earth burns it until BAM its a meteorite

they are so small because they are small chunks of bigger comets or other big rocks.
