Oh yes, I remember it! I bought a 1959 Ford Anglia 100E for £50 (5 week's wages) in 1968. The engine blew up, someone set fire to the inside of the boot, a wheel actually fell off while I was driving it and a mechanic (drunk) dropped the engine on the bonnet as he was removing it for repair.
I sold it to a friend for £10. He begged me to sell it to him because he wanted somewhere to sh*g his girlfriend. A few days later, his mother shouted at me 'what sort of a friend are you to sell him that piece of c**p?' So I gave him a £5 refund, leaving me with just £5.
He tarted it up and sold it two weeks later for NINETY POUNDS! What a bloo*y tw*t!

My first car was a chick magnet. It was a 1979 Dodge Colt stationwagon. Mind you, I was born in 1976, so the car already had plenty of "character" by the time I got my hands on it.

A Kia Sportage my husband and I bought for $900 from a friend when we first got married. It died after about 3 months. I don't remember the year but I do remember it was green. :)
