does it reformatt so my computer can remember all orginal factory settings? Or what will it do when replaced?

The only thing that replacing the CMOS battery will do is reset the BIOS to the original settings. This does not affect anything windows related other than the date and time.

So anything you had installed on the computer prior to this battery replacement will still be there.

You don't have to worry about reconfiguring your BIOS unless you have custom settings that you personally entered. Default BIOS settings are just fine.

You need to reconfigure the bios.

After the cmos battery is taken out, the information you had stored in bios becomes factory standard. Meaning any changes you made along the way have been erased. Just put bios back to the way you had it and your set.

Hi. It may not have reset anything. There is a jumper that must be moved over one position to clear the settings and moved back to restore the defaults. Any setting you modified will need to be reset in BIOS.

You'll just have to reset the time and date settings in the bios. Just press F2 when you're booting the first time after you change it.
