Only if you know you will use them equally.
360 Halo is the thing now but Playstation has blu-ray and this will be the it later on.

It is worth only buying one. Many games hit both platforms with only some being exclusive.
If you had both the xbox and playstation, which one did you prefer? As of right now, XBox 360 definitely knocks out the PS3 but i'm sure there's going to be more games with the PS3 before long.
Just based on the games: XBOX360.
This is just my opinion, I think that the PS3 has a better system, but the 360 has the better games. In the end, the 360 would still be my choice. I base this on enjoyment of playing games, not just what the system can do.

that is a terrible idea. why would you spend 1200 just on systems and have no games when you could have one system and 20 games for that much. unless you are rollin in the cash then do what ever you want buy a wii also. i have an xbox 360 and the only thing i can say is its awesome and if you want to play the best game of all time halo3 and get the xbox live then you have to get the xbox 360. nothing compares to xbox live except maybe the internet. 360 hands down. ps3 has blue ray and all that but i dont own any blue ray discs. people are buying more 360s than ps3s im just telling you the facts.

just get a ps3
get a ps3 because.....
- ps3 has a built-in blu-ray player
- ps3 has much more and better exclusives, most of them cant go to xbox 360 because it cant handle that many data(DVD- 8.5gb, blu-ray 50gb)
- online is free for ps3 not like 360
- ps3 will have over 300 games released by this spring
- when developers get used to the system, the graphics will be WAY better than 360. should take them a year to get used to it
- playstation home is coming out this spring, its a virtual community where you can hang out with friends and customize your own apartment which xbox doesnt have(FREE)
- ps3 is a true HD console. xbox 360 upscale games to 1080p and ps3 DISPLAY games up to 1080p
- built in Wi-Fi
- xbox 360: 33% hardware failure
ps3: .2% hardware failure(see the decimal? less than 1%!)
- rumble returns in spring 2008
- you can upgrade your harddrive without voiding warranties with any 2.5 HDD, which xbox cant because you have to buy a xbox HDD
(they actually have the step by step on how to upgrade it on playstation.com)
those are the ones that i know right off my mind but there are much more reason than this
Prices as of today:
ps3- 80gb: $599
60gb: $499
xbox 360(premium)- $399 (if you want the accessories that ps3 comes with, that would add up to over 700 dollars)

buy the 360 for now, you can buy the ps3 when new games like MGS come out. As for now the ps3 has poor games. the 360 has a lot of fun games.

Well Xbox 360 has better good library games choice. The PS3, well it has blu-ray DVD player & good media but, no good games out. You have to wait & wait..

Hell no, get the 360, its better in terms of graphics and online play, PS3 is really only good for its wifi.
