plugged main jet, some carbs r easy and some r hard to repair depends on engine manufacture, if its on a American engine that is a full metal carb take out nut on bottom of carb its it main jet and blow it out and reinsert and try, if its a partial plastic carb or foreign engine take it to a shop! no these type of kits do not have instuctions and no u should not use dip carb cleaners, and some carbs u cant use compressed air. if this is on a walkbehind mower a rep shop should charge about 30-40 dollars n labor and the kit isnt above 20.

I don't agree that you can't do it yourself. Most people who work in or run repair shops will tell you it is a hard job and that they should do it for you for $100 or so. The carburetors are simple and the rebuild kits have instructions. Cleaning it is the main thing. It should be soaked in a good parts cleaner and blown out with compressed air. Watch the way the springs and rods are attached to the carb so it is put back correctly. Sometimes a digital photo helps. It isn't hard and you can do it.

You have a dirty carburetor. You need to take it to a qualified mechanic and have it cleaned. You cannot do an adequate job yourself since the carb will need to totally dismantled to clean it properly.
Right now it runs for only a few seconds because it is running on fuel injected by the primer. Once that is used up the engine is starved for fuel and quits.

what's occurring is two opportunities. electric powered and gas issues. Heres a pair of photos in the lifeless of night. electric powered is handy, substitute the spark plug. it may be historic and misfires whilst it gets heat. additionally study to confirm the choke only isn't staying closed, and the air filter out isn't clogged. A grimy air filter out will act only like a closed choke and make your engine start up and flood out. The actual impediment is your engine is walking out of gas. returned and returned it fills the carburator and starts up and runs except the carburator is empty of gas. it extremely is brought about by skill of countless outstanding opportunities. A leaking or plugged gas line. Small debris of airborne dirt and dirt or airborne dirt and dirt contained in the carburator jets. usually brought on via way of tiny airborne dirt and dirt and grass debris falling into the gas tank once you top off. A cracked gasket allowing too plenty air into the gas technique. A defective flow now not floating or needle valve sticking. each and all of the above as properly the gas lin demands taking away and disassembling the carburator so which you additionally can besides rebuild it jointly as you have it off. somebody with familiar expertise can rebuild a backyard mower carburator. What have you ever to loose? It would not run now. All you opt for is a few screw drivers, pliers, air compressor and a pencil to jot down down what share turns it took to eliminate the jet screws so as which you've got the skill to place them returned contained in the comparable functionality in case you finally end up finished, and to make notes each and each time you assume you may not undergo in ideas how something is going returned jointly. pass to Ace Hardware and purchase the rebuild kit on your lawnmower variety. It could value around $10 if bought as a kit and not guy or woman factors. get rid of the carburator from the engine, wash in gas or solvent, disassemble being guaranteed to jot down down down the quantity of turns it took to get rid of the jet screws. Wash the full factors in gas or solvent as quickly as extra. Blow the full tiny passages open with the air compressor. Reassemble in opposite order of taking it aside. confirm to coach the jet screws returned interior the comparable quantity of turns it took to eliminate them. positioned the carburator returned on the backyard mower and start up it. great music the idle and extreme engine rev via turning the jet screws a million/4 turn at a time. whilst the engine runs comfortable, stop, you're performed. I evaluate you would be happy with the outcomes.

It seems like the carburetter float is sticking and only allowing the mower to run until the float chamber empties, so check and clean out the float chamber.
