Making funny faces when learning to eat solids is pretty normal. You don't say how old your baby is. If he is under 6 months, then I would say to forgo the solids for a couple weeks and then try again. Nutritionally speaking, breast milk (or formula) contain all the nutrients and vitamins a baby needs until about 6 months old. Some babies just aren't interested in solids until 9 months or even older. Babies are born with a tongue-thrust reflex that begins to subside generally at 4-6 months. Until this reflex gets the message from the brain that it is no longer needed it can be hard for some babies to eat from a spoon. A newborn's tongue is designed to be able to nurse from a nipple and that reflex must be weakening before a baby can learn how to eat from a spoon. I suggest that you wait a couple weeks, try again. If it still isn't working for him, try waiting again. There really is no rush to introduce solids. There are some babies that prefer bottle or breast so much that they are approaching their first birthday before being interested in solids. As long as your baby is healthy and is growing it is likely just fine that he isn't eating solids yet.

the baby dosen't have to eat obviously the baby is not ready also you should only try 1 new food every week or so to look out for possible reactions...I would wait and try again in a few weeks! if you force it it can cause aq lot of problems down the road if the baby has a reaction and you are not aware they may really refuse for a while!

Have you tried different brands of baby food? It can make a difference. Also, if he is younger than six months he may just not be able to get it to the back of his mouth and swallow.

They do that in the beginning. The important thing is to not give up. They are tasting for the first time ever and the texture and temperature is new for them.

try not to give him a spoonful. try just barely putting some on his tongue and let him start out slow... remember, up till now he has only had things that don't have much of a good flavor and this is a WAY different experience...

try rice cereal. make it a little warm- ( not hot, i would taste it myself lol) maybe add some banana baby food to taste. most babies will pull a face andspit it out because of the'new' taste and texture. good luck

It took us 2 months until he would eat the food. Just keep trying and don't just give him stuff he'lll like. Give him everything.
