I do not want to unnecessarily stress out my daughter so I would very much like some outside opinions. Do you think if she were to take a couple of subject tests right after her finals for the same subjects that it would be too stressful or is that killing two birds with one stone so to speak? At first I thought it may be a bad idea, then I though well if she has to study any way... I would actually appreciate the advice of high school juniors and seniors here and those who were recently in that position. This would be for the end of the semester in January. If she doesn't do very well we'd do it again in June which would be right around finals anyway, right? Though she would have a few more months knowledge in some classes but then she'll know what to expect on the tests.

Also any other tips would be appreciated.

Thank you!

I actually did the same thing last year. I took the AP US History exam and then the SAT II Subject Test not long after. It was really helpful as when the time for the SAT II came around, it was pretty much just reviewing as opposed to hard core studying.

My guidance counselor thought it was a fantastic idea to do that, so I suggest allowing your daughter to do the same.

Last year I took the Biology E SAT Subject Test in June. I found it really good to take it then because I had already begun studying for the NYS Regents in Biology. In my opinion, it is better to take the tests at the same time because it would like review, rather than relearning/studying the material. I know some people who felt they needed more time and decided not to take the Bio SAT II in June, but rather they took it last week. Of course these people didn't study over the summer and obviously they forgot most of the information they learned last year. If they had taken it in June, right before the culmination of the year, they probably would have been more confident.

I'm a senior that took my ACT last year but I would recommend this place on online called Key Train that will help your daughter with all those type of subjects. It does cost money though to purchase but it could be well worth it to her. Also I would recommend to you that don't be too hard on her with this test because she'll get so stressed out that she won't study.

The ability to take, and pass, the test is akin to any other ability: practice.

I should not have to tell you this. Three deep breaths.

You know how to memorise. Teach instead of stressing.

Read it read it read it
Say it say it say it
Write it write it write it

Once you can write it, without prompts, you know it.

C'mon, you know this.
