The article doesn't mention it (see link below), but these were Democrat staffers (they mentioned the party affiliation on the radio here in DC). My questions are:

What would have happened if these had been Republican staffers and they received the same immunizations before going on a visit to the 9th Ward in New Orleans? W

Why doesn't the article mention that they were Democrat Staffers (the local DC news mentions the party of the staffers)?

Does this say something about how the Democrats feel about Joe Twelve Pack?

One of the recommended immunizations was for diptheria, where do they think they were going, the third world?

Another was for Hepatitis B which is an STD or requires sharing of blood, what where these staffers going to be doing there?

"Four US house staffers were advised to receive immunizations before going to NASCAR races, leaving one representative asking why..."

I can kind of see their point.

If they had info that there might be some type of attack at sporting events then you would want the people there to not be affected.
For example if you immunize emergency workers for Anthrax. When they are in a situation where Anthrax has been released, then in theory they will not become victims themselves, and can continue in their job of helping people and handling the situation.

I don't think this was a precaution because they were going to a NASCAR race.

First if this would of been Republicans every major paper would of had it as front page news and every major news station it would be the first story every hour. This again shows the democrats just do not get the middle class or the reason NASCAR fans will never vote Democratic. This is pure idiocy and stereotyping. They need to be fired and the representative who first pushed it run out of office.

Actually, it was Rep. Bennie G. Thompson (D-MS) the Head of Homeland Security Committeewho told aides to get a series of immunizations before going to the NASCAR race. See: http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,301684,00.html

Excellent point about Republicans going to NO--you KNOW it would all be a race issue. A star for you!
