Ann Coulter on CNBC Show: Jews Need 'Perfecting'
Published: October 11, 2007 12:15 AM ET updated 1:30 PM ET
NEW YORK Appearing on Donny Deutsch's CNBC show, "The Big Idea," on Monday night, columnist/author Ann Coulter suggested that the U.S. would be a better place if there weren't any Jewish people and that they needed to "perfect" themselves into -- Christians.
It led Deutsch to suggest that surely she couldn't mean that, and when she insisted she did, he said this sounded "anti-Semitic."

Will this irresponsible and ridiculous comment finally mean the end of Ann on cable TV and other media outlets?

kevw: I think she said the equivalent of such by stating that Jews should convert to Christianity.

savagedude: most christians support Israel because they believe that is where Jesus will reappear. And if Jesus comes back at that point Jews will be forced to convert to Christianity or go to hell.
I don't really consider that to be much 'support' for Israel or Israelis.

Why is it people (not just Ann Coulter) can attack people constantly and people take it, even if it isn't nice, but if they say ONE bad thing about Jews, they are automatically blackballed into oblivion never to be taken seriously again. Look at what happened to Mel Gibson.
And as a side note, I can't believe that I just stood up for Ann Coulter. I don't like her and I have always thought her as a *****.

At least Ann had the guts to say what she truly believed as a Christian: not there there should be no Jews in the sense that they should be driven out or leave the country but that Jews should perfect their Judaism by accepting Jesus Christ as Messiah.
"Perfect" in the sense of comlete or make whole. I agree.

Look that cute little anorexic will get miles of free publicity out of this. It is her stock and trade. She doesn't actually work for any station or show so there isn't much that can be done to her.
Let the usual suspects open their mouths and she will challenge them to scream off to be carried on FNN which if they don't accept she goes on and calls them cowards and gets lots of free publicity for her books.
If they do accept she gets lots of publicity for her books.
This is showmanship or showwomenship people get over it.
I watch or listen to parts of these shows sometimes and it really doesn't matter wither its lib or con they all scream hooray for my side at the top of their lungs and like TV wrestling some people go for it hook line and sinker.
She will make a mint (a small one) from this.

normally i like ann and her vehement stance against liberals, commies, athiests and socialists.
if this was a serious commentary on her opine, then it is troubling to me even as a fan.
if this was merely toungue in cheek and to provoke reaction as it has done, then i don't care.
it won't end her appearances. it might get her less invites, but not entirely.
to the liar propagandist above. the "religious right" supports Israel more than most israelis as we see israel as a divine nation. it's so nice to see you make such an absurd and overly broad generalization and show your hatred and ignorance all in one!

This is nothing new. The religious right has always been anti-Semitic. For the last few years, they found it useful to pretend otherwise, but their basic attitude hasn't changed.
I suppose that as it sinks in that their playtime with Bush is about over and no one is buying their BS, they're losing the incentive to keep up their "we support Israel" facade and are simply reverting to form.

She is a media whore. She always pops up whenever she has a new book coming out or whenever her Republican gate keepers need some rumors spread and they turn her loose. She might be done for awhile though. I heard her last sex change operation is coming up soon. She needs to get that adam's apple of hers removed.

The last of her? I have never seen so many Ann Coulter questions in one afternoon! You have to remember that she is only popular when she causes controversy....

She is a train wreck waiting to happen.
I understand what she was saying. It's the problem with belief. You have yours, they have theirs. She was trying to say that Christians want Jews to convert. Personally, I don't give a crap what your belief is, unless it tells you to kill me. Then I have problems with you.

Never heard of her, but if she's fired and has time on her hands it sounds as though she'd fit in around here... What's her take on the McCann's and might she be pregnant?

From a conservative on YA, I sure hope so. She is rather embarrassing (although spot on target SOMETIMES).
That's why you don't see too many of us quoting her.
I personally think she's a nutty as Pelosi and Hillary with her nervous laugh and tics.
