A good rule of thumb for the size of a prey item for you snake is this: The prey item should be about 1 to 1.5 times as wide as the thickest part of your snake. The lump left by the pinky should be noticeable for around 2 days. If there is no noticeable lump after feeding your corn a pinky, move up to a fuzzy. Enjoy your snake. Corns are among the best to keep as a pet.

Yes You should be increasing the amount and not just jumping up to the next size .Feeding Hatchlings should be done every 5 days or so. (Corns over the age of one year or yearlings could be introduced to a 7-10 day feeding pattern.)Newborn hatchlings will start with 1 pinkie mouse per feeding. When after feeding you observe your snake “hunting” for more, or the swallowed prey becomes less noticeable, then increase the feed to 2 pinkies and so on up to 3 pinkies. The next stage would be to feed fuzzies following the same procedure followed by small, then medium and then large mice.At this stage they should be on a 10-12 day cycle but when reaching medium/large mouse stage you would only be feeding 2 at the most. But don’t be in a hurry to get onto the bigger prey. It is important to make sure your snake is comfortable with the size it is being fed and to make sure you don’t over feed as snakes can get overweight. It is also an important time to make sure temperatures are correct as they use heat to aid digestion

never feed a snake 2 prey items, one after the other. just increase the size of the prey item that you are feeding it. a snake wont eat something that is too big in most cases. Never increase the number of prey items. Increase the size of them. If you look at it... Then an 18 foot Reticulated Python would eat probably two 5 gallon buckets full of pinkies.

make sense now?

Good Luck!

Well you don't actually give them two then three and four when they grow bigger you need to get bigger types of mice/rats. Your corny should be on pinkies for a good couple of months then maybe an older baby mice ( ones with Fur, but still relitivley small). Then adults. And then Baby rats and then adult Rats which then should be the last food source hope this helps.

Watching a snake is the one of the neatest things i have ever seen! Snakes don't have to eat all that much, they will grow fast and once they start to grow a lot then i would increase its food! Good luck!

When she gets a little bigger or you'll knotice everytime you go to put your hand in the cage she goes to you.. hoping your food. Also when you think its time you can try two pinkys. If she doesn't eat the second one you'll know she still wants one. But only put one in the cage at a time.
