How many of you out there heard about what Steinbrener did to Joe Torey just before the game? What kind of crap is that to tell someone just before a game. Does Steinbrener think Torey is intentionally messing up the game and loosing intentionally? What a crock of sh*t. I think someone needs to fire Steinbrener!!!

Torre should just resign and flip georgie the finger on the way out the door!
Georige does what georgie does b/c he can!
Rivera has spoken out about it and likely others are very unhappy about it! What if that is the last thing for Posada and A-Rod they don't have another catcher ready and they would lose 1/4th of their RBI's!

I'm not sure where you've been but this is old news. There have been hundreds of postings on the topic since it happened. Joe Torre was disrespected by Steinbrenner but that's nothing new either. Every Yankee fan would love to see Steinbrenner sell the team and get out of baseball all together. It sure is a crock but at the moment he's the owner and he calls the shots.

A. you cant fire the owner.
B. wasnt just before the game Torre found out the day before and can do you really think he didnt know it was coming?
C. If you were the highest paid at your position with the "best money can buy" surrounding you and did not perform as well as others with much less wouldnt you think there would be a breaking point? Its not like George didnt fire warning shots a number of times. Torre should be thankful for what he had. But personalities dont win championships and players cant be individually held responsible so who is left? thats right the manager.

Big Stein may have his faults and has made plenty of mistakes (not resigning Torre would be one of them). But he loves the Yankees, and he is not cheap. Every year he puts a product on the field that will compete. 12 straight playoffs and counting, 6 Championships, 10 AL Pennants during his reign as owner. No other team is even close through the same period.

I'd say its just about impossible, and stupid for that matter, to fire the guy that owns the team and more importantly signs your paycheck.
