Granite. Both granite and gabbro are intrusive igneous rocks. A quick look at Bowen's Reaction Series shows gabbro forms at the top of the series and granite forms at the bottom of the series. Bowen's Reaction Series (as a general) rule that higher temperature at the top and lower temperature at the bottom. Since granite forms at a lower temperature it can be assumed (perhaps incorrectly) that it metamorphoses at a lower temperature.
