There are some things you can do to feel better, and these may or may not work for you. You can try eating very small portions several times a day. Don't move too quickly, especially when getting up, and don't lie down immediately after eating. Try to avoid foods that are spicy, or fried, and try eating cold foods more than hot. The smell of lemons can sometimes ease nausea. You can also try eating a small amount of ginger. Current research suggests that 250mg four times a day is more than safe during pregnancy. There are some foods that might help, like salty crackers, sometimes pickles (helped me just a bit). Try to get as much rest as possible, since nausea is worse when tired. Depending on how serious your nausea is, you might have to take time off work. I know that my boss really didn't like the day I threw up on the office carpet, and then promptly passed out. I didn't work when pregnant anymore after that. If absolutely nothing works for you, see your doctor. There is a medication that you can take that may very well help you.

Take one now and then again in a couple days just to be sure. Many home pregnancy tests (HPTs) claim to be 99% accurate on the day you miss your period. But research suggests that most HPTs do not consistently spot pregnancy that early. And when they do, the results are often so faint they are misunderstood. If you can wait one week after your missed period, most home pregnancy tests will give you an accurate answer. Ask your doctor for a more sensitive test if you need to know earlier.

If your already 5 days late then GO AHEAD and take a test!!! First Response Pregnancy tests can even be taken 5 days BEFORE your missed period so if your already 5 days late then you should get an accurate result from an Early Response Test. Good Luck!!

You could just be having a late period. PMS symptoms and pregnancy symptoms are very similar. So it's possible pregnancy could be the culprit. Take a home test. Have you been having unprotected sex? Use condoms or birth control!

I'd wait a few more days (although it won't hurt if you did today). It might just be late. Are you stressed, have you changed your diet or exercise plan, have you lost weight?--there are lots of things that can delay a period.

You can take one now. Ease your mind! Good luck! The early response ones will be most accurate since they detect the lowest amount of hormone.
