Do you speak? Or are you just a body? I would do gray white makeup with darker circles around the eyes so they look sunken in. Whiten your lips a bit so they look dry. Do an image search http://www.goodsearch.com/default.aspx?mode=image&Keywords= type in any key words you want (dead, makeup, corpse, etc.) and you'll get some lovely photos.
Just for fun you could also watch Thriller by Michael Jackson, tons of Zombies there :-)

Just think dead.
You can watch Catwoman and it shows Halle Berry (playing the part of Patience Phillips) dead. That is somewhere in the beginning. Or you can watch movies and/or television and look at actors acting dead. Follow their techniques and remember to take notes!!!
