There was a guy I was dating for a while about 5 years ago. I had to move away, but since then we have always kept in contact with emails and phone calls. Recently he emailed me a 'confession' and told me that he fell in love with me when we were physically together and that he still loves me to this day. He also said that he feels a connection with me he has never felt with anyone else. Do you think it is possible for this guy to love me even after all this time has passed without seeing each other?

I am just scared that he is feeling this way because you always hear that people tend to romanticize things. I just want to know for real and for sure. Also, I have never been in a long distance relationship before so I don't know and didn't know what to expect from it. But he has always stuck by my side thru thick and thin.

Also, we have tried to visit each other a few times, but it always fell thru. We are both in the military so whenever we would plan something out, he would or I would have to go to Iraq or something like that.

Yes if there was a real connection then even though time has passed his feelings may not have changed. You hear stories all the time of childhood sweet hearts losing touch and then finding each other years later and falling back in love with each other.

It really depends on the man. I met my boyfriend 6 years ago, we worked together and I wasn't interested in him as more just a friend. After I left that job we remained friends for a year or so and then lost touch. About 2 years ago I looked him up on MySpace and sent him a message. We made plans to hang out, and after becoming great friends again he confessed that he had been in love me from the day we met and even after all this time still felt the same way! He told me that every girl he dated he always compared to me.
We've been together over a year, he's the man of my dreams! Go for it! You won't be in the army forever, take a chance.

I definately think it is possible! I'll try to keep it short but my story should give your heart hope :-) My current girlfriend and I dated about 3 years prior to our current relationship and then she moved away. We spoke a couple times a year but that was about it and only saw each other once in those 3 years. Then it happened. She contacted me online and said she was moving about 2hrs from where I lived. As soon as she moved we met up for dinner. The rest is history. We remembered all the feelings we had been ignoring for years and fell even further in love. Two months later I moved to be with her. I found a job and we have been on the most amazing ride of our lives. We are planning a wedding and though I never would have thought it could happen we are definately that couple that makes you sick about how in love they are.

. Oh my goodness, it took some time for you to clarity your point, but, after deciphering your question, the best answer I can give you is this: Love is not a cheap thing and it goes beyond being a simple ordinary four letter word. Love is being real without the slightest deception. Whether or not this guy loves you after five years is something both of you have to address. This issue is something that you will be able to equate, but after five years without much to go on between the two of you, my opinion would be NO, he does not love you, he is confused, and, if it has taken him five years to think he loves you, I think that is too long a time to take lightly.

I think he probobly does love you but not to put u down long distance realtionships never work. if he really loves u he will wait untill u 2 can b togather u know what I mean. things can work out but u both will have to make arangements on how 2 c each other if neither of u cant move then at least make it so u 2 cn c each other a few times a month. It all depends on if you love him.

I still love my high school sweetheart and I always will even though it has been 15 years since I have seen here. Talked to her last week though and we are going out this weekend. Good Luck!

He may just love the idea of how he loved you before. I can get like this I'll forget any pain of hurt someone has caused me and just remember the love. If you do get back together he may realize he just loved the idea of loving you. Or you may live together happily ever after in love!!! gl
