Because the Dems in Congress pushes a useless and senseless resolution condemning Turkey for events that happened 90 years ago. Now, the Turks have withdrawn from diplomatic negotiations and are poised to cross the Northern Iraq border, which could mean more war. And for what?

Thanks, silly Dem Congresspersons. Once again, you prove your amateurishness in the realm of international diplomacy.

Democrats don't have a clue when it comes to foreign policy.

Is this what they hoped to accomplish when they took over Congress?

Anyone who thinks the Turks are talking of putting forces in Iraq because of the resolution passed by Congress is confused. The Turks are concerned about Kurdish separatist in Iraq who may collaborate with separatists in Turkey.

For some strange reason they've gotten it into their heads that it's perfectly legitimate to invade other countries, Iraq in particular, as long as you call the people there 'terrorists'.

I know, I know. It sounds crazy. But, believe it or not, some people in the world -- violent backwards people -- think that way. I don't know where they get these ideas from.

I think it's ignorant that my tax dollars are being used to pay people who are wasting their time creating "resolutions" just to put a label on something.
If the government had not taken the time (the tax payers time) to label the Turkish slaughter of Armenians a genocide would that have changed any of the facts. Putting a name on something doesn't change it-
Before this "resolution" was this anything less than a genocide or slaughter- no it wasn't the facts haven't changed.
I think it was poorly timed and quite pointless-
perhaps this is how the Democrats further their "lose the war" cause.

The only reason the Kurds are doing as well as they are is that the relationship the US had with the Turks kept Turkey out.
Now, guess who else would like to see the Kurds go extinct? Iran.
Just what the world needs now. The Turks and the Iranians in an alliance.
Wonderful.
I can't wait to see how they blame Bush for this one.

Too bad it hasn't passed yet in either the House or Senate yet... It has only gone through a Committee. Plus, this was being pushed by Armenians for the us to do this for a very long time. It was only a matter of time anyway for this to happen. I hope that the Senate can see what damage this will do and not pass it. Write your Senators and Congressmen if you feel this outraged by it. Talking about your frustrations online isn't going to do anything.

before you get excited there,
remember, turkey has a right to defend its boarders, and we have been doing the same thing in syria and the saudis shoot anything even remotely close to thier boarder to include me when I was there in Iraq.

I think we should support turkey in its effort to rid an area of terrorism, not all the people in that area are like that

but as for congress being idiots, live in DC for a little while and see just how bad they ruin good things

Not to mention the fact that 90% of new vehicles that are designed to protect our Soldiers from roadside bombs were supposed to be flown through Turkey.

"Sorry Soldier, you're going to have to dodge those explosions a little while longer. We wanted to get that warm fuzzy feeling for chiding a key strategic ally in your fight against terrorism for events that everyone knows occured under the Ottoman Empire."

And these are the people who "Support The Troops But Not The War"

At least now they're showing us how!

Pathetic.

This was designed by the Dems to create more problems for the Country so that they can blame them on the President. IT HAPPENED 90 YEARS AGO, WHAT'S THE RUSH TO PUSH THIS CRAPPY LAW THROUGH WITHOUT INVESTIGATING THE RAMIFICATIONS? The democrats are just putting lipstick on a pig, and that's all they seem to be able to do.

No wonder approval ratings are so low for both the White House and Congress.

Uh, it WAS a genocide. The Turks killed 1.5 million Armenians. They were firing over the border into Iraq long before today, anyways. There's been long-running issues with Iraqi Kurds, and now seems to be the opportunity for them..
