Caucasian does not mean white; caucasian means thinner features with round eyes. Look at the SCIENTIFIC definition not the American slang definition and you will see even nonwhites such as Dravidians are Caucasian.

Because that term has been and continues to be hijacked by romantics, orientalists, paradigm proposers, pseudoscientists, closet surrealists, classification fetishists, wishful thinkers, and agenda-pushers since the 1700s, especially after some guy fell in love with a skull found in Georgia in 1795 and tagged it with a theory he borrowed.

"I have taken the name of this variety from Mount Caucasus, both because its neighborhood, and especially its southern slope, produces the most beautiful race of men, I mean the Georgian; and because all physiological reasons converge to this, that in that region, if anywhere, it seems we ought with the greatest probability to place the autochthones [birthplace] of mankind."

---quote from J. F. Blumenbach (died 1840)

Now, Georgian men do some pretty hot traditional dances in some nice tight pants. Guess Blumenbach noticed that too.

Actually, caucasians are called such because over 100 years ago a "scientist" decided that the white race began in the Caucus mountains. This has long since been disproven. Actually, the idea of race has long since been disproven but whatevs.

Yeah, if you go to Russia and say caucasian people think you are referring to people from the Caucasus. In my opinion it's all irrelevent - I really deeply believe that there are no races. There are different cultures, but to divide people based on looks is so arbitrary and doesn't reflect any sort of behavioral or ideological similarities. I shudder to think who I would be categorized with if we were going off physical traits alone! My brother-in-law for one, and we have absolutely nothing in common (sorry, I can't stand that guy:-)

the term "caucasian" is rather irrelevant; it dates back to an outdated notion of three human races (Caucasian, African, Mongoloid (ugh, I hate that word)). That theory went out in the 19th century.

if one must subcategorize the single human race, there are about 30-33 or so ethnic categories that are much more meaningful than words like "caucasian."

"African", it's funny, he can't even say the actual category name or he'll probably get booted. PC run amuck.
