Okie Dokie, what do you think about this? My husband and I dont always see eye to eye and the other night one of our friends stopped by our apartment to hang out and see what we were up too. I dont mind hanging out with this person but sometimes his attitude is what kills it for me. Well anyway, when he came into our house he brought his dog in with him without even asking if it would be ok. The problem was that we had just gotten a brand new livingroom set earlier that day and as soon as the dog came in it ran and jumped right on the couch. (By the way, it is a black leather). I got mad because it wasnt cheap and this "friend" didnt even ask if it would be ok! (Plus, it was my birthday present) I got mad at my husband because he didnt say anything and he didnt understand why I was mad. I would like to know what you guys think and if I over reacted. Thanks in advance!

You had every right to be angry! No friend comes into someones place an lets his dog jump on the furniture. If your husband does not understand you need to tell him that you do not appreciate that your friend did that, and make sure you put your foot down if he comes over again.

It is wrong that that dude let the dog on the couch as it is brand new.
Maybe you should of not got mad though and just asked the guy to remove his dog.
You husband probably didnt have a go at the guy because he is his friend.

first off this guy has no respect for either of you how can he be a friend..anyone that just brings a dog with them to visit should be ask to leave their dog in the car.. it is also you house you should have said right off no dogs in the house take him out..some ppl.that love their animals think everyone loves their animal...NOT.....just like lighting up a cigarette in someones house that don't smoke.....teach this guy some manners.....you see everyone he knows must just let this guy do what he wants....its best to respect others but you don't have to put up with rude ppl...you have a right to be mad....i would and i love dogs...just not in the house.

No you didn't overreact

Yes, the friend should have asked permission to bring in the dog, and kept control of it once it was in your house....
