This question is really to the people with a few years of adult life behind them...
I seems as I have got older especially the last few years I have become a mega cynical person, as I move closer to the forty... I trust no-one....the goverment being the least trusted obviously. I seem to dislike people more and more and feel like a complete grumpy old s*d .....

Do you think it is society that is to blame, or just age ?

P.S someone please tell me I am not alone in feeling this way

You are not alone in this. For me, it's gotten so bad that my husband and I are even considering not having children. I mean, why bring a child into a world that is so full of war and despair? Do I really want them to have to experience this? I know there are good things happening everyday, but when you are crushed with so much bad in the world, the outlook is pretty bleak. So, no....you are not alone in this. I'm 34 and feel horror at what the future holds for this country and our world in general. I still have hope and I cling to it, but at times it is pretty hard to do.

I have taken quite a cynical view on things since I was in my 20's Harold Wilson's government saw to that. But now I take a cynical view of almost anything to do with those with any form of authority. Sadly I am rarely proved to be wrong. The last time I believed was Tony Blair and Iraq. We all know what happened then. So we can only blame those who have lied and been found out. Who have suppressed the truth at every opportunity to save embarrassment. We can also blame ourselves for not doing anything about it.
You may protest just as long as you are ineffective

Cynicism comes with age.We have the wisdom and confidence to challenge things and are better able to understand things instead of innocently believing everything. This is what makes me cynical and i am getting worse or better depending on how you veiw it year by year.
