Yahoo.com, Google.com, Ask.com and many more.
What they do; when you enter a certain word or group of words, the search engine (Just a name we give them) will search the Internet for those words and give you the results. Best I can explain.
I typed "Define search engine" into the Yahoo search bar (Without the quotation marks) and got many results. Below is one I copy and paste for you.

It is a service offered by most major sites. There is usually a box to type something on and next to it button that says search. They relate what you typed in to all sites contents list registered with that business. Forget term for it other than Search Engine, and sometimes they will put up sites registered elsewhere but paying more for greater access. Simplest example you register or put on line site to tell people about zzloo, so you put into content zzloo or other things people might ask that relates to zzloo. Someone put zzloo or somthing that relate to it into search, and many sites that list it on content page will come up.This factor is science all by itself. Sometimes you get luck and hit precisely what your looking for, and other times you need to look at many sites, and sometimes you strike out.
