What they do; when you enter a certain word or group of words, the search engine (Just a name we give them) will search the Internet for those words and give you the results. Best I can explain.


I typed "Define search engine" into the Yahoo search bar (Without the quotation marks) and got many results. Below is one I copy and paste for you.

it's the little engine that could.....it makes things easy for us to look for info in the Internet coz this engine goes through the maze of millions of data and sorts it out for us......it narrows the selection field......it steers us to the right direction - all in micro seconds!!! nice huh?
