i think they should teach the bible in school but i guess that is where church comes in but not everybody goes to school or believes in god. What really is the harm in praying at school. Let everyone of different cultures pray a different prayer as long as we do so. There is to much hate to not pray seriously

I would like prayers in school. Even if they are silent prayers, but a time set just for them would be great. That way, people who don't believe in it, can just sit there quietly.

as you said, not everybody believes the same thing. some people do not believe at all. asking them to participate in prayer is discriminatory and therefore should not be mandated. let people worship the god of thier understanding in a church. let people learn about everything else in a school. if you are wanting to talk 'fairness' that is the only way. seperate church and state - since schools are regulated by the state.
that is what recess is for, if a student wants to take time to pray during thier free time or have prayer groups then go for it, but don't force everyone to participate in something that might make some uncomfortable by taking time away from the classroom to do so.

I believe in God, but I don't believe in the state unifying with the church, I believe that each of our faiths are important.
And if you want your kids to pray, you have two options. Have them attend a catholic school (or whatever religion you like) or they can pray whenever or wherever they like, like most of us do, in the car, before or after eating,
We should respect, as we´d like to be respected.
But I do think that some people overreact, for example I used to have a friend in school, that didn't participate in most of the things we did, but he always stood up if we did or just little things we did, he was very respectful of the things we did in school, even that he had another faith.
Respect is the base of tolerance, and tolerance is a firm base of a good society.

I do! I go to a private school, and they have Bible, and it's by far my favorite class! I pray at school all the time, because my friends do too, so it's normal, but yes, it's very important for me to pray as well! I know. I think more people should just except everyone and get along!

I think you are very right!
Let everyone that wants to pray, pray!
I think it is harmful to teach our children to hold back the way they feel, maybe if they were allowed to speak their minds more, we would have better students and less aggression, maybe the fact they are forced to hold it in, is causing all this internal anger...Personally, I do not understand how we can be founded under God, and they have the nerve to remove Him from our schools! How ironic huh?
Really Good Question!

No way! I don't want to pray, I don't believe in God...why should I have to pray? How about 5 minutes of meditation where everyone just has to be silent? Some people can choose to pray, others can choose to contemplate. Religion and prayer do not belong in public schools.

No because their is the seperation of church and state. Look it up. I learned this lastt year in 8th grade. I mean, if people want to pray in school, then they should be allowed to, but people who do not wish to must not be forced to. This can only happen in private schools that are not governmentally funded.

Silent prayer is okay with me and no one should be forced to participate. I do not think that open prayer should be in a school. If you attend a religious school, that's a different situation. Prayer does not get rid of hate though.

Everyone should be able to pray in school if they want, just as long as no one is forced to do so.

Have a few minutes of silence every day where everyone can pray privately if they care to...
