Mario Mendoza hasn't played in over 25 years. The worst player this year would have to be Nick Punto of the Twins. Batted .210 for the season w/ only 1 HR and 25 rbi.

Larry Yount.

Robin's brother warmed up and was announced as the reliever in a game. He hurt his arm warming up and had to be replaced. He never appeared in another game.

Otherwise, it's Marvelous Marvin Throneberry of the original Mets. (He wasn't actually as bad as he seems.)

Stole 2nd base with the bases full.
Homered. Called out for missing 1st base. Mrg. Stengel argued. Won the argument. Throneberry then called out for missing 2nd, too.
3 errors one play.

That's how he came to symbolize the original Mets.

here are some players that did bad, pitcher brett tomko was 0-32, ryan langerhans of washington hit .170 in 206 at bats. David ross of the reds hit .203 in 311 at bats. Worst ever had to be mario mendoza who hit .215, in over 1300 ab, ending his career with texas in 82, he hit his last homer in 1980 off of steve renko, and his last hit was off of richard dotson of the white sox in 1982.

Manny Ramirez

the worst fielder in the game, a prolific underachiever ( his numbers would be far greater if he had ANY work ethic), a terrible teammate, barely speaks english( been in this country since he was a little kid-22years- shows how lazy he really is), jogs to first base, jogs to balls hit to him in the outfield, sells his gas grill on ebay( what a loser), won't play with minor injuries, poor role model for kids-doesn't sign autographs

there is a reason cleveland didn't resign him(LAZY BUM)

J.D. Drew, I know he did good at the end of the season but he didn't perform when we needed him to. I give him a C+ for the season.

For 2007, either Punto or Sexson, depending on how much you want to factor in salary.
