They told me that it's not possible, because some of them would start having feelings for the other; but suppose the woman is ugly, can she, then, be friends with a man? He won't have feelings for her rather than friendship?

Of course a male and female are capable of a friendship bond. However, a Guinea friendlationship comes with some reservations that makes the bind. Even though one may think all friends are garnered alike, there are slight differences in opposite sex versus same sex platonic hookups. Understanding and accepting that there are specific differences in the male persona, as is the same with females... once these compromises are secured by both partners, then the friendship feels normal. Recognition and perhaps tolerance of such differences may include such things as how each gender deals with emotional issues. Another being that there are differences in how each gender reacts to a same situation set before them. There are a few more like girls are programed to scream loudly and boys don't. Ladies express themselves openly, while men may do the same internally. But all things considered, these are petty differences and should not stand in the way of becoming a fun duo. Oh yeah, I had to learn that girls cannot go as long as boys when it comes to doing number one, bathroom wise. I can say this, because I am a male, and we can be crude in conversation, at times. And about the possible love thing, if it should happen, then all the better. It has been rumored that married couples should be best friends. This way, each of you will have a head start in the game of love by learning all the quirks that may irritate each of you... thereby either learning to tolerate and or ignore. Bonne Chance Les Amies

That's a good question every time I find a good guy friend that I feel is just a good friend they always end up having feelings for me. Or i end up having feelings for them. I would have to say no because even if the woman or man is SO ugly and disgusting I feel that them always being around each other and feeling that they have so much trust love and respect for each other and are able to talk to one another about anything is going to make them have feelings for one another

Of course they can! I have many guy friends where it is stictly plutonic and we have never had a romantic relationship. The hard part of it is that sometimes one of them will develop feelings for the other then act on it which can destroy the friendship. In this case it just takes a little work to get the friendship going. Oh and I don't think it has anything to do with looks so don't worry about it.

Yes, males and females can be great friends as well, and even if two of them start having feeling for each other, whats to loose? As long as you know it wont hurt your friendship in anyway, whats wrong with a small relationship? If not then great, you still have great friends. It just depends on who your friends with and what you want from the friendship... to stay friends or start a relationship.

Gay/ Bisexual guys are well known for being great listeners! They make great friends! If you definitely don't want a relationship but just be friends then whats wrong with someone who isn't straight? They'll be brilliant friends.

It is possible but rarely happens. There is always someone who has feelings for the other person. It is a given. Even if the woman is "ugly" does not mean he can't have feelings for her. It's not about looks alone.

It is possible. I have lots of guy friends and we don't have feelings for each other. It doesn't matter if the woman is ugly, it matters if they have feelings for each other no matter what their appearences are. So yes, some of their friendships grow and some just stay as friends.

I don't think looks have anything to do with it. Generally, friends start having feelings for one another because they're attracted to their personality.

It's possible though. I'm going through this right now. While (I think) we'd both like to take it to another level, it's just not possible. What's the point in ruining something special with sexual feelings? While I wonder what it would be like to have him in my bed, I also know that's a huge risk of ruining a really great and special friendship. Who knows what will happen though....add alcohol to any situation and you've got yourself an issue....

Two people of the opposite sex can be friends. Sometimes its a real good thing. Cause for the man he can learn alot from a female friend for when he finds a girl he really likes. She can coach him and help him out in rough times in a relationship.

Absoultely - I have several male friends (my husband is acquainted with them). We have the best time when we go to lunch because you can talk about almost anything (we all work together) and in the all the years that we have been friends not once have we ever felt anything other than friendship. It can be that way even if the girl is not attractive.

see this is the kind of stuff, that men don't understand. Us women can have a friendship with a man, without being sexually attracted to the guy. I have a few male friends, they are not ugly - far from it - but they are JUST FRIENDS
