Puree veggies and fruits with a blender. Some require steaming or boiling before being pureed (ex carrots, broccoli, etc.). Throw them in the blender and pour into ice cube trays. cover with waxed paper and then wrap in plastic and throw them in the freezer. Once frozen, pop into ziploc bags and you can store them for up to a month (write the date with a sharpie on the bag). They last in the fridge for 48-72 hours--throw out after because they are not sterilized and are just like any veggies you'd eat--you want to eat them within a couple of days or they've gone bad.

First you have to peel the fruits and veggies and steam them both (except bananas), puree until sooth and I put them in baby bowls (ones you can put in the freezer) or ice cube trays. In the refridg, they can last about 3 days and up to a month in the freezer.
I got the most help from http://www.wholesomebabyfood.com/
It is a great website, they tell you how to prepare all kinds of foods and when is a good time to introduce each food along with storing information.

Applesauce:
Peel, core, and chop apples into pieces. Put in pot. Pour in enough filtered water to just cover apple pieces. Bring to a boil for 5 minutes, then turn down heat and gently stew until apples are soft. Mash with hand masher, if you got it. Then blend in mixer when cool if baby is younger than 8 months and not quite yet ready for solids.
Add 1 or 2 teaspoons of cinnamon, 1 or 2 tablespoons of brown sugar.
Let cool.
Lasts in refrigerator for 1 week, but if baby likes it, it goes fast. Mine liked hers mixed with her rice cereal flakes.
You can do the same with ripe pears, peaches, (reduce the sugar, as both are SWEET), plums, and apricots.
For cooked carrots and sweet potatoes, simply peel, chop, boil, and blend them. Add a little salt for flavor, but only a sprinkle.
Again, they'll last in the fridge about a week. They do okay in the freezer, too.

Use regular canned vegetables and puree them in a food processor or blender. Then put them in ziploc baggies or food storage containers in the fridge or freezer. I think they are good for a few days in the fridge and a long time if frozen.

If you're making large amounts using a blender, I think it's better to freeze unused portions rather than keep them in the fridge. Using an ice-cube tray will make it easier to thaw it one serving at a time.
Otherwise, you can invest in a baby food mill (mine cost about $12) and make fresh meals one at a time.

Usually it involves steaming them well and pureeing them. You can freeze them once you've done that, but you can only expect them to last in the refrigerator as long as an open jar of baby food would, a couple days. There's lot of good info on preparing homemade foods on this site....

I know its not gonna be a popular answer but I would prefer to make it fresh every day.
Don't store it more than 24 hours.
Make small portions.
My fav is mashed potatoes, a tiny bit of butter, and coocked spinage , (mix to a pulp) You can also try sweet pattoes the same way.
Pumkin and rice is also a great mix. nice and sweet

I pureed them in my blender. What I didnt use, I froze in an ice cube tray, stored cubes in zip lock in freezer and defrosted when I needed more later.
