I'm freaking out! I'm 35 weeks along with my first and have been having problems from day one. Now though is a problem that is just DISGUSTING!
I went to the bathroom last night and went #2 a little bit and when I whipped I saw something move on the TP.
(I always look at the TP to check for blood, mucus or anything else out of the ordinary)
When I inspected further I discovered little tiny white worms! They were moving!
I am a total clean freak so this almost made me vomit right then and there! I know its grouse but I took the one off the TP and put it in a little zip lock and was going to take it to the ER.
I was running around getting ready when my husband calmed me down and said he has had this before to and its just normal. He said his grandmother (a practicing RN for over 40 years) said it happens when your food doesn't digest all the way before you poop it out, and it will go away on its own.

HOW CAN THAT BE NORMAL?

I have a doctors appointment in 2 days that Ill bring this up,

but have any of you ever had this???

How could I catch this whatever?! I'm such a clean person! Anyone know if this could hurt the baby??? Is it normal?? Is it some kind of intestinal worm/infection??? Is there pregnancy safe medications for it???

PLEASE! Any advice would be good while waiting the 2 days to see my doctor!

PS I already called my doctors office and the appointment I have is the soonest he can see me and I have to go to the ER if this needs immediate medical attention!

They are little white worms. They were moving when I saw them. They were not big, only about 1/3 of an inch and very small, skinny little things...

WHAT ARE THEY!?!?

No other symptoms no. No itching or burning or nothing. My stool's are a little softer than normal but that could be form the pregnancy...

They are pinworms. However, there is absolutely nothing to be scared about. They could have come from anywhere, a sandbox, a pet, dirt dragging in from outside. When my son had them he was two years old. I freaked out and discovered, me 8 months pregnant also had them! You take medicine and poof they are gone!.I had to take a drink as I was pregnant. This was the absolute worst part! It was so nasty and if you vomited it you had to repeat it. Don't worry. You can't prevent it. Don't poof a pet. Probably wasn't the pet anymore than the dirt on your shoes! Go to doctor( they do NOT go away on their own!) and smile next year!

You have intestinal worms. Don't be surprised by it, no matter HOW hygenic you are, everybody in the entire world gets worms at some stage, they are just incredibly hardy little buggers, and very very easy to contract.

When I did Infection Control as part of my healthworker training, our teacher told us that worms are so infectious that if you haven't been treated for them in the past six weeks, you will invariably have worms. No two ways about it. That means that of all the people in the world who haven't recently been treated, 100% of them will have worms.

You have worms.!!! Do not freak out, they are very common among adults and children. Mostly children.. I am sure most adults do not want to admit to having worms. My oldest child had worms which I think he got from the dog. The doctor thinks from my son rubbing the dog and then licking his fingers is how he got the worms. It is very easy to treat. You will have to take a pill for a few days... nothing serious. THis sounds crazy but the last pill you take around 2 weeks after the first one. I had to put tape around my sons anus while he slept. The worms seem to come out at night and if they do they will stick to the tape. THis is a way to find out if you still have worms.

Tiny White Worms In Poop

DONT PANICK THEY ARE NOT HARMFUL!
Thread worms are tiny worms. They are about 1 cm in length, and look like white cotton threads.
You catch thread worms by swallowing the eggs. These hatch out in your intestine, and quickly develop into adult worms. The female worms pop out of your anus at night, and lay their eggs on the skin around the anus.
The eggs are picked up on fingers, and (horrible thought!) can be transferred back to the mouth and swallowed again. Once safely inside the body, they develop into adults, and start laying more eggs.

What are the symptoms?
The main symptom is intense itching of the anal area, especially at night. This causes scratching.
Of course, by scratching, you pick up eggs on your fingers, which means the eggs can be spread about.
Go to the doctor and he will prescribe you and your family (husbands kids etc) some medicine to take and will also tell u to wash all bedding on a hot wash. hope this helps

this can happen, just calm down. go to your nearest health food store, or pharmacy and buy a little vitamin called olive leaf. its safe to take because its all natural and what it does is kill anykind of worms in your system. most doctors dont believe that natural healing works, but trust me, it does. i would give it to any animals you might have living with you because this is the main way people get worms. if they are living inside, i would get them out until they are taken to the vet and checked out for parasites as this can harm the baby.

They are pin worms and they wont go away on their own. They are not that dangerous but you do need to get medication for them. I have known children to get them but dont know how the meds would react for a pregnant person. They spread very quickly so you will need to be very careful about washing and disinfecting everything or everyone in the house will have them.

They are worms yes and no they will not go away on their own like your husband says, and yes they are very harmful to your baby, in fact the baby most likely has them too. You can get them from eating any meat that is not cooked to the correct temperature, eating deli meats, and the like. You are pregnant, and anything like this needs prompt medical attention. Get yourself to the ER right now.

They are pin worms...and are highly contagious. With women you need to be careful that they don't enter the vagina. Tehy are caused by gastro-intestinal problems...you need to get into your Dr right away as you are pregnant.
