1. The end of slavery in states that allowed it. Assessment: good
2. Strengthened the union by bringing back the seceeding states from the south. Assessment: Good
3. Brought about Reconstruction to bring the southern states fully back to citizenship in the union. Assessment: Bad (several negative things occured in the south during these years)
