3 diagnostic tests from autozone said that my o2 sensor or cat converter needed replaced. Car was stalling after extended driving and getting bad gas mileage (and running loud).

I took it to the garage and paid $50 to have it checked out. They said a wire was loose w/some fuse which caused 1 of my cylinders to not work. (does that even make sense???)

Anyway, I knew that it was something else and now my check engine light is on again. Ask for a refund, credit or what?

Most likely you have a bad oxygen sensor, on board computer won't be able to make proper air/fuel mixture adjustment, you can smell unburnt gas from exhaust pipe, your cat should be fine, bad cat doesn't stall your car, bad oxygen sensor can in some cases..

I don't think you can get a refund/credit but you can try, it won't hurt anything. But I won't recommend to have you car fix at the same garage.

I would definitely take it back to the garage and tell them that what they did, did not work, and now your check engine light is on. I would demand them to look at it again, for FREE, and tell me why my car is still not working/why the check engine light is on.
