Before you jump to answer that... look up the definition of the word. I, for one, am a very proud and INTELLEGENT "hillbilly". I don't think growing up in a "city" environment makes anyone smart. What do you think?

No I don't think they're stupid. And I don't like when people use the term in derogatory or demeaning ways. Your intelligence isn't determined by where you live. Good luck. 2D

Growing up in the country does not necessarily make one a hillbilly, and I am grateful for that every day of my life. (I grew up in the country too, and still live in the country.) People in the country can be as educated (sometimes more so) than people in the city. Living in smog, concrete, traffic, and crime does not make a person smart, despite what many city people think.

"Hillbilly" is a derogatory term that means uneducated, uncultured, and ill-mannered; however, not all of them are stupid. That's for the rednecks.

No i don't, I am from Alabama and I know many intelligent people. Although, where I am from they are not "hillbillies", they are considered "hicks" or "rednecks". In my opinion I would not want to grow up in a big city, I like small town living!
