I wanna make it so employers etc. cant access my criminal background, Will changing my name in court help with this??

no..it will still follow you...especially if you file in court.. the court paperwork will be made sure that both names are in the system with anything you do.

Having a criminal record will not prevent a name change by deed poll, however if he has an open case, is on probation, or is a registered sex offender, he must register his name change with the appropriate official. Such as a probation officer, police dept. etc. I would not do it. Simply because it gives the appearance of trying to cover up a major criminal career when he simply had a single conviction as a minor. I would simply admit to "a conviction involving drugs at age 15". If he changes his name and denies any criminal record, he really hasn't changed, he is continuing to think like a criminal.

Criminal records are generally accessed by social security number and/or date of birth. Changing your name won't help at all.

in most cases they will ask you all alias or prior names used in the last seven to twenty years.

Plus you won't be allowed to change your name if your intent is to defraud.
