The war in Iraq will go down in history as the worst political blunder in the history of this country. It will make Vietnam look good, because after Vietnam we should have known better.

We supplied billions in military aid to Saddam Husain in his war with Iran and then that he used to defend his country when we invaded.
Now we are fighting the Taliban, in Iraq and Afghanistan which we also supplied hundreds of millions in military aid in their fight with the Soviet Union during it's occupation.
Does it get any better than this?

That statement is an oxymoron, there is nothing to be proud of about it. It was attacked on false pretenses, that were based on deliberate lies, it has nothing to do with national security and everything to do about resource acquisition and intimidation.
