I have been interested in learning how to sew but I dont know where some class are located in my city. So does anyone know where some are in the Rome Ga area or some books that may be helpful. Does the store Michaels or anywhere else teaches sewing for beginners?

Call and ask. Also try Jo-Ann Fabrics. Any sewing store could help you find some classes if they don't offer them. Check out your local public library. There is a section dedicated to crafts with beginners books to advanced. Ask for help if you can't find them, that's what the Librarians get paid to do and love to help, usually.

I don't think Michael's would offer sewing classes they are a craft store. Do you have a fabric store near you? The JoAnn's store in my area offers sewing classes.

Often the local adult ed will offer a once a week class for 8 weeks for $25.00 or some such. They're a lot of fun.
