When you drive up to the gas station
and there's (4) pumps to choose from
REG, PLUS, SUPER, and Diesel
is the plus and super considered UNLEADED?
[there wasn't a label that said so, however all stations here had the same thing]
So I asked some guy and he said yes [he was foreign but spoke English, so I trusted he was right and put 18$ in the tank]
Now I'm at home stranded because the "battery light" came on this car [my husbands]

PLEASE HELP
[and please no mean answers, I was just in an accident because of a deer at night, don't need sympathy just no sarcastic answers I'm gonna get yelled at as it is I bet and don't know how to resolve this b4 he gets home, + I have to take a taxi to my other job :-(
thanks

Yes they are all unleaded.

usually it says super unleaded and unleaded plus on the labels here in CA.

The battery light typically has nothing to do with the fuel being placed in the car, unless the car stalled. (In which case usually the check engine light would also turn on).

The battery light typically means the alternator or the battery in the car has gone bad. (Again this is the typical reason, but not the only reason). It's most likely a concidence.

However if your car does not require plus or super, you're just wasting your money purchasing the more expensive unleaded gasoline. Plus and Super have higher octane ratings and are usually meant for cars with higher compression engines. Standard cars can burn the more expensive fuels, but can't take advantage of the added "oomph" power that Plus and Super can give to cars with higher compression engines.

There is no regular vs unleaded gas now. All gas is unleaded. The number next to the type just indicated the quality of the gas.

Also, the gas would have no impact on the battery indicator light. That light came on to alert you to a problem with the battery. Go outside, pop the hood, and wiggle the cables connected to the battery. If they move, they may not be making a good connection, which will read as a battery problem. Simply take wrench and tighten the bolts on those cables.

All gasoline in the US is unleaded. Gas will not make the battery light come on. Regular gas is best for most cars. My opinion is anything else in MOST cars is wasted. Hopefully you did not get Diesel, the car runs good while the engine is hot, but wont restart when it cools down!
Hopefully your husband wont yell at you. Everyone is different, I am extremely knowledgeable about the things I do, but I bet I could ask you a really stupid question about something you know about!
Good luck, drive safely!

All gasoline is unleaded now. The battery light is a separate issue. Either the battery is bad and won't hold a charge, or the alternator is bad. Either way, they have nothing to do with the fuel in the tank.

It's all unleaded now. As long as you did not put Diesel in the tank, putting gas into the car should not have caused it to stop running. The two things are probably not related.

Gas is unleaded these days. Gas has nothing to do with the battery.

i agee with everyone on the gas type issue
as for the battery light, do you have AAA tow service? have them come give the car a jump, most guys look it over for you to see why it went down for nothing, the belt is possibly loose, the cables loose or the alternator wire harness fell out or is bad or the battery is drying out and going bad, after they get it going, go to a auto parts house and have them check the charging system
