Only if you really want to be a mother. I certainly don't, so it wouldn't be bliss for me. But it seems to have worked out all right for my mother.

Honestly I don't know and right now I'm careful to not to do anything to make me a mother!

I have a feeling that it is pure bliss for some women but for others it is a good experience if they want it and are ready for it..but maybe not bliss.

I can't say pure bliss. I have 3 kids, and I love them beyond anything, but it's a hard thing raising them to be decent human beings. I've been a single mom most of their life, being both mom and dad, and there's lots of good things, but some bad, too. I wouldn't change it for anything, though. I agree with some, it isn't for everyone. You have to make a lot of sacrifices.

Yes, it is so to me.

One look at my son's smile confirms to me that motherhood is pure bliss..

There are challenges but every effort is worth the happiness my child has given to me by making me his mother.

Babe, are you a new mother by chance?
Motherhood is a lot of things, bliss can be one of them....especially in the beginning, don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to bring you down; it's a BEAUTIFUL thing, certainly the most beautiful thing I've ever had the pleasure of being involved in.......but the road is long, and narrow, it is a learning experience, and like most learning experiences, it can be very, very, painful...........come back when your going through the "angst" of teenagers....babe......and let's swap stories.....
Peace.

Much of it is, but it has it's down side.
Poopy diapers, teething, ear infections, sassy backtalk, pubescent mood swings, undesirable friendships, teen car insurance, for example.

On the up side, Baby's Firsts, the breastfeeding relationship, summer camp, school achievements and awards, positive comments from teachers and other parents, hugs, having an adult conversation with your offspring.

Wouldn't trade ANY of it.

pure bliss? not remotely. it has the potential to be the single most fulfilling and rewarding accomplishment of a woman's life, but it is almost always exhausting, frustrating, and incredibly difficult work.

Absolutly. It's sometimes more like a roller-coaster - it's more wonderful *and* more heart-wrenching at times than you can imagine, but I never want to get off. My children are the best thing that has ever happened to me.
