Yes, I got along with my teachers on personal levels (no not in inappropriate relationship levels) I knew them and their kids growing up, and the ones who I didn't got to know me very quickly through the others. Then I became a teacher for a bit. It was there I learned that regardless if you like school or not, you should be respectful to the teachers and realize that they come down hard on the classes in the beginning so that they can back off later if the class behavior allows. It is the best option for gaining and keeping control of a class of 30 students--believe me I know.
For those who call teacher's pets, kiss a**'s, realize that most of those students who are begging the teacher for attention usually don't have parents that take care of them, or there are major problems at home or some other outside factor. Go easy on them. They just need support. Some people turn into the school bully or other variation of that when they encounter problems at home, but others turn to their teachers and look for attention, support and a bit of hope.

Never in grammar or high school. But was in one of my college nursing classes. I had a hard time financially through college and worked too.She made allowances when I was late to class or dozed off during a lecture. She gave me make up work when I missed a class. She was great.

No. I had one particular teacher that I would spend whole class periods arguing with. I hated school.

I was for about a year. It wasn't until he wanted me to start doing my work in his private office that I figured out why I was his "pet".
