Most cleaners will leave a residue and a smell that can get into your food. Don't use pine or fantastik, ammonia, windex or bleach.
Instead fill the sink with warm dish soapy (just a little) water and add some white vinegar. It will get rid of any odors and even though it smells strong, the smell goes away. To get stubborn things off, you can use a plastic scrubbie, or you can lay a rag on the spot until it softens and loosens. You can also take drawers out and remove shelves if that helps get them cleaner, or so you can get around them.
To keep the smells under control after the fridge is clean, use dry baking soda in a shaker or get the fridge pack with a little filter on the side.

Ive heard baking soda is quite solid for deodorizing. U could additionally attempt out windex or different cleaners if u have stains to wipe. And in some grocery shops, I even have considered something on the factor of an air freshener, yet this is designed specifically to flow interior your refrigerator to maintain the scent sparkling. If none of my techniques paintings, i'm sorry. =( wish you detect a extra advantageous way than mine then!

Hey if you still working on that fridge ....here is what I do..I use Borax it deodorizes and here something else you can use after wards you can wipe it down with vanilla extract solution .yeah ...my brother in law had an appliance store and used this to freshen up their refrigerators.
I live in Florida and we came home from a trip to find the fridge on the bum it was fixed but I had to deal with a horrendous odor..cleaned it out left it empty for a day with a baking sheet with charcoal briquettes and the smell was gone !!!

I wipe down the shelves and walls with warm water and dish soap about every 2 weeks. If there are stubborn spots, I rub on a little baking soda paste, and then wipe again

I used bleach on my refrig and almost choked myself to death. I would maybe use Pine Sol or Lysol instead. Just dilute it enough so it doesn't kill you with the vapors. I took out all the shelves and scrubbed those in the skin with good detergent and elbow grease. Make sure to clean around the rubber gasket strip around the doors too. You'd be surprised what accumulates in there.

Stay away from chemical-laden products when cleaning something that holds food!
I just mix up a bowl of white vinegar/water and clean down my fridge with a rag.

I use baking soda sprinkled on the sponge. After "scrubbing" I go back and rinse with plain water and then wipe dry.
