When do you think kid's lose their innocence? I know there can be many factors. Some of them horrible. But in general, when do think they lose innocence and get taken over by the world. And is it a tradgic loss? I think the world would be a much better place, if we had more innocence. I think if most couples shared that innocent love children have, thing might look different these days for families and relationships.

Thoughts?

They lose their innocence when parents let them. My kids are by no means innocent, but we have a very good relationship. My 20yr. old son tells me everything. His friends flip out over it and can't see why he does, but I don't fly off of the handle when he comes home and tells me that he's done something the night before that I wouldn't like. I "talk" to him about it. I also tell him that it doesn't make me mad, it just worries me. I believe that my kids are as innocent as innocent can get these days and I'm very proud of them.

I totally agree!

Childhood innocence is a sad loss, but in order to live in a world where so much horror is going on it's impossible to keep it totally. However, my husband and I share an innocent, beautiful, carefree love with each other. We have a son now and we share that pure love with him.

With more innocence in the world we'd all be better off. But with all the horrors we deal with in a lifetime it is impossible.

As u said there are tragic circumstances in where innocence is lost unwillingly. Its hard to say its different for each person, u know? Honestly, I think alot of innocence is when a child starts school, not like 1-3 maybe 4th grade and later, i know it may seem young, but they just 'dont make kids like they use to' kids are so much more experienced nowadays. And i cant believe they are exposed to the things they are in todays society. So, yeah, i would say late elementary years. And some, not all, then in middle school, again it just depends on the childs environment. Sad too, cause my baby is just a few months and i want to hold on to each precious moment, each hour, each minute I have of her being so innocent, kids become so corrupted, well u know everythings different in 07 families are broken, kids have different fathers, fathers arent there, mothers arent there, sometimes kids have to tend to themselves, it just depends.

OH , this has nothing to do with your question, but to my last question and you posted a response... " I GOT THE JOB!!!" :) thanks for your encouraging words!! i was so nervous!! but yes it was offered today, and of course i accepted!!! thanks again!! :)

Normal kids will lose their innocence when they reach puberty. It's a stage they will see the changes in their physical but you will see changes that happen mentally in them. It's normal for kids to lose their innocence especially in this fast-progressing world. You only need to worry when they did not lose their innocence because they will only be eaten up by those cunning people. Innocence cannot mean in the sense of never watch porn or even have sex, it is the level of maturity, intellectual, and knowledge of the world.

Do you mean innocent, or naive? Children can be aware of the world and still be innocent. I have lots of friends whose children are aware that life is not fair, and that people are capable of doing really bad things. But at the same time, they are still able to see the best in people, and love without condition. Anne Frank comes to mind as an example.

If we had our rights back to choose how we want to live, like some people would rather raise their kids without electric, and grocery stores, and cars, taking things back to the way they used to be, you grow your own food, your parents taught you, where you pretty much just know how to survive, and I also agree with the guy that said keep them away from American T.V.!! It is a sad world out there and I cringe each day sending my kids to public school and seeing all the crooked people get what they want, then to see them in church every sunday like they have no guilt.

i guess there kids out there that still are innocent after having sex. some may still be innocent up until death (but that might actually be for the psycho ward to decide).

Put 'em in front of American TV shows, and it's innocence lost pretty quickly.
