Yes.
I don't think the government should be able to control what consenting adults do in their private life, assuming their actions do not cause harm to anyone else.

It should be legalized. No ones died for overdosing on pot before. People have died countless times from too much alcohol, prescribed drugs, even drinking too much water!
The point is, it remains illegal so our government can easily arrest so called trouble makers and those that question what our government is doing.
But, in all honesty, you need a clear mind to see what the government is doing so get off the drugs and pay attention. Yesterday it was the Patriot Act removing some of our freedoms, today they are tasering us, next year is the REAL ID Act of 2008, and after that its martial law.
Wake up and go to infowars dawt com and listen to Alex Jones!

Definitely, it's no worse than cigarettes or alcohol which are both legal. I think it should be like cigarettes, you have to be 18 to purchase (of course we know minors will still get their hands on it but they are now so what's the difference?) It would save the jails and prisons money not having to house/feed people who buy/sell it. Plus the government could tax it and think of all the money it would generate for the country!! It's a win-win situation, legalize it and use the extra money to crack down on the hard drugs like cocaine, crystal meth, etc.

Yes. People who want to smoke it are going to do so whether it's legal or not. I have to wonder how much jail and prison space would be freed up if the police didn't arrest people for non-violent drug offenses. I say legalizle it and tax the crap outta it...like cigs and booze.

Personally I see no problem with it if you do it at your own home and stay there. Now if you are going to smoke it, then drive around and act like an idiot, then no, it shouldn't be legalized.

Yes, Yes, and Yes...because its effects are WAY less than alcohol, and alcohol is legal? I don't get it. I can smoke and drive but can't drink and drive.

Yes!!. Reason: Personal Liberty!!
Of course with all the smoking bans every where now , if it was legal , you wouldn't even be able to smoke it anywhere!

Yes, the taxes from it could pay for lots and lots of stuff, and the price of it would be so high (like cigarettes have gotten) that I think a lot of people would quit.

since marijuana is basically harmless and not addictive (unlike tobacco), I see no reason not to legalize it.

No
Because it's a gateway drug. And besides I enjoy seeing potheads locked up in jail where I don't have to listen to their stupidity, or be bothered by their ignorance
