It's very disturbing that there are Americans who are not outraged at the criminal behavior of the bush regime.
It is really overwhelming.

Aren't both pretty disturbing?
I'm less concerned that the 27 most ignorant segment of the population supports him and the rest of the Republican elite, but that another 23 percent seem to be easily fooled around election time.

The supporters... BUT, I have noticed a few of them starting to open their eyes.
One I worked with in particular floored me last week when he proclaimed that we was going to "write in" Al Gore during the next election. He said and I quote: "That little S.O.B. Bush has lied to me for the last time!"
This guy was one of the biggest Bush supporters I ever met! People can change – THANK GOODNESS!

It's most disturbing but not surprising that the supporters are fooled. The people affiliated with this administration are rich, powerful, and smart. They aren't interested in fairness but in keeping themselves rich and powerful. That is what matters to them more than life itself it would seem. That is the most disturbing since a lot of them are poisoning the rest of us in more ways than just a few.

What's really disturbing is how the supposedly 'liberal' media keeps taking Bush at face value and doesn't point it out right away when he says stuff that clearly isn't true.
But also very disturbing is how so many Americans put party above country, how partisanship has completely blinded them to corruption. I used to think the American people would never accept as criminal an administration as the Bush admin. Nixon wasn't nearly that bad and he was forced to resign when his own party abandoned him. That won't happen with Bush. It shows you how far we've sunk!

They are not so easy to fool, but they lie about their intentions as well. Moreover, they are most adept at fooling themselves. For example, many vote solely on the abortion issue, yet the promises often ring false and the true deeds ring more in tune with what they didn't want. And yet, "Christians" keep supporting their abusers and miss the fact that if they only vote on one issue, then it is better voted on in large masses to cram through as legislation, not as part of a voting strategy in a complex situation. Yet this is how you have people say they are "pro-life" in one breath, yet support state-sponsored murder at the same time by default of their voting records. By convincing themselves that they vote for "the lesser of two evils" by selecting only one issue to vote on (whether it is "pro-life" or "family values" - both are only successful movements at the state level), they sacrifice other Christian values such as helping the poor and needy and building a fairer society. Of course, they could just be lying about the "Christian" part, which then negates the relevance of contradictions inherent of voting EITHER Republican or Democrat. For their sanity, things would be best if there were a moderate, truly Christian party, but it does not exist and both parties work HARD to make sure it will never happen. So the so-called "Christians" find their path to corruption by compromising their values and they are damned either way because they refuse to do the hard work of building the party they need to save themselves. In such a world, real Christians do not vote on the currently provided candidates in order to remain true to their word. Those that do otherwise may lie to themselves that it is not so, but we see right through those lame attempts at denial.
So it is not a matter of one president or even one party. They are all damned if one is to truly see through the lense of Christianity. And although many people say they are Atheist and Agnostic, many of these say so because they became disillusioned with the whole insistence at compromise of the values instilled in their Christian upbringings. American Christian society has failed itself and the Agnostics and Atheists are the product of their discontent. Their anger and rage at the failing of their fellow ex-Christians (now corrupted and deluding themselves that they are still Christian and yet can serve Mammon at the same time) is incessantly spewed in the Y!A Religion & Spirituality section. Why else the focus on how Christians are hypocritical?
So the entire country is a shame.
Then you have insane ranting about how the executive order of May 9,. 2007 by president Bush that all but immediately declares himself dictator of the country is somehow Hillary Clinton's fault. What a fascinating concept. Perhaps they are saying that George Bush is Hillary Clinton's puppet? Why, then, did they vote for him? You can point out Bush's direct assault on the very concept of a Republic and still Republicans are in denial. It's not unlike an abuse victim that will go to lengths to defend the abuser, even when they have been horribly harmed and might be killed later for defending them. It's not a matter of logic, but psychosis which can only be generously explained by trauma. Let's repeat what we understood from one person's response about the excutive order: George Bush wrote an executive order that undermines the Republic in order to empower Hillary Clinton to become dictator. Were that logical, then what difference does it make which party you vote for?? That's like saying they are the one and the same, yet the person saying it claims to be Republican. Were it a paranoid schizophrenic supporter of Larouche, we might see where in their delusions they might think such a thing, but to say "the guy I voted for wrote an executive order so that our mutual enemy can become a dictator" is even more nuts that that!
With "friends" like that, who needs enemies? There's enough psycho just right there in the party to keep one busy for an eternity. And don't think we are letting the Democrats off the hook easily. Far from it. They have their very own special form of stupid. But that wasn't exactly the question and another long rant, so we'll save it for another special time.

They are brain-washed. No amount of information will convince them if they are still listening to people like Rush & Ann Coulter. On the plus side, there are less of them every day.
