i started reading a few of them recently but when i searched for them, i found websites saying different things. also, is it true there's a tenth book that's supposed to be out sometime?

Hmmm - a strange fate has apparently befallen "Strange Fate." Ms Smith has reportedly been quite ill.
Note: "Strange Fate", the 10th book in the Night World series, is still not released. It was supposed to be published in 1998, but that never happened. The publisher has no update on when, or if it will be released.
